How it works
- Total days = calculation date − birth date.
- Weeks = days ÷ 7, with the remainder in days.
- Full months are counted on the calendar, then the remaining days.
- Corrected age = actual age − (40 − birth week) weeks.

Worked examples
Born on 1 May 2026
On 1 November 2026 the baby is 184 days old: 26 weeks and 2 days, or exactly 6 months.
The same baby born at 32 weeks
Born 8 weeks early, so the corrected age is 184 − 56 = 128 days: 18 weeks and 2 days.
Frequently asked questions
When is corrected age used?
Doctors typically use it to follow the development of babies born before 37 weeks until about age two. Vaccinations usually follow actual age; follow your doctor's advice.
Is a month 4 weeks?
No, a month is 28–31 days, about 4.3 weeks, which is why months and weeks are shown separately.
