Type a link or number to make the barcode.
A linear barcode is the set of parallel bars you see on products, cartons and cards, read by point-of-sale scanners and many phone apps.
Type what you want to encode and the barcode is drawn instantly in your browser. Choose bar width and height, then download the image at double resolution for printing.
How to use it
- Choose a type: Code 128 for links and text, EAN-13 or UPC for product numbers, ITF-14 for cartons.
- Type the link or number. For EAN and UPC you can leave out the last digit; the check digit is calculated for you.
- Adjust bar width and height and choose whether to show the text below.
- Click Save PNG image or Save SVG to print at any size.
Worked examples
Barcode for your website
Choose Code 128 and type https://24xx7.com. For links people will scan with a phone camera, a QR code works better.
EAN-13 product number
Enter the 12 digits from your GS1-issued number; the 13th check digit is added automatically.
Shipping carton
Choose ITF-14 and enter the 13- or 14-digit number printed on the carton.
Frequently asked questions
Barcode or QR code?
A linear barcode holds a little data in one direction and suits product numbers and checkout scanners. A QR code holds far more and is read directly by phone cameras, so it's better for links.
Can I put any number on my product?
No. Retail EAN and UPC numbers are issued by GS1. A random number may clash with another product.
Does the barcode expire?
No. It's a static image of exactly what you typed and doesn't go through any server or service.
Why is my EAN-13 rejected?
It needs exactly 12 or 13 digits, and if you enter 13 the check digit must be correct.
