How it converts
- Each measure has a base unit (metre, kilogram, square metre, cubic metre, metre/second).
- The value is converted to the base unit and then to the target, using exact definitions (e.g. 1 inch = 2.54 cm exactly).
- Temperature uses formulas rather than a factor, because the zero points differ.

US vs UK gallon?
A US gallon is 3.785 L and a UK gallon 4.546 L. US is the default; you can pick UK.
Is the acre the same as the Egyptian feddan?
No. This is the international acre (4,046.86 m²); a feddan is about 4,200 m².
Why can't I enter a temperature below −273.15 °C?
It's below absolute zero, the lowest physically possible temperature.
