Add your courses, credits and grades.

Most Saudi universities use a 5-point GPA, some a 4-point one, while US universities use 4.0 with different letter grades. Choose your scale, then enter a letter or percentage mark for each course.

For a cumulative GPA, add your previous GPA and credits.

How it works

  1. Course points = credits × grade value.
  2. Term GPA = total points ÷ total credits.
  3. Cumulative GPA = (previous GPA × previous credits + term points) ÷ (previous + term credits).
  4. Percentage marks are converted to letters using the chosen scale's table (e.g. 95+ = A+).

Conversion

  • 5.0: A+ 5, A 4.75, B+ 4.5, B 4, C+ 3.5, C 3, D+ 2.5, D 2, F 1
  • Saudi 4.0: A+ 4, A 3.75, B+ 3.5, B 3, C+ 2.5, C 2, D+ 1.5, D 1, F 0
  • US 4.0: A 4, A− 3.7, B+ 3.3, B 3, B− 2.7, C+ 2.3, C 2, C− 1.7, D+ 1.3, D 1, D− 0.7, F 0

Saudi tables follow common university regulations; US cut-offs vary by school. Check your institution's rules. The general rating uses the common 5-point cut-offs 4.5, 3.75, 2.75 and 2.

Worked examples

Three courses on the 5.0 scale

A+ in 3 credits (15 points) + B in 3 (12) + C in 2 (6) = 33 points ÷ 8 credits = 4.13.

Cumulative GPA

Previous 4.00 over 30 credits plus an A+ term of 15 credits: (120 + 75) ÷ 45 = 4.33.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a 5.0 GPA to a percentage?

There's no single official formula. We show the share of the scale maximum as a pointer only; institutions asking for a percentage use their own rules.

Does an F count?

Yes, at its value (1 of 5 or 0 of 4) under most regulations, unless the course is repeated under your university's rules.

Can I calculate a high-school average here?

This tool is for credit-based GPAs. For score percentages use the Grade Percentage Calculator.
